I have stayed in various places around the world, this is in my top 5 !! Awesome location, lovely people who run it, fantastic Shepard’s hut to stay in, if you looking for something a little different with pure comfort, book it, you won’t be disappointed ! Home made breakfast delivered to your door. Loved it and we will be back soon for sure.

Perfect in every way possible. Mel and Jake have set a new benchmark for what we expect from Airbnbs in the future. The location is very accessible and easily found but somehow still manages to feel very rural and peaceful. There are lots of attractions and beautiful walks nearby, we were recommended a restaurant on our first night which was within walking distance and the food and hospitality there was excellent too. The hut itself was way above and beyond what we were expecting. They are immaculate, and finished to a very high standard which would put most hotels to shame! Our personal favourite part was the fire-pit which was the perfect way to end each day. Mel and Jake were the perfect hosts that were attentive and welcoming but still gave you your privacy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfast each morning was also faultless and fuelled us up for each day perfectly. An added bonus were the chickens that were pottering around the garden during our stay which we loved! Overall we cannot recommend this place enough and can safely say we will be back in the future!

Thank you Melanie and family for a wonderful stay. The hut was gorgeous, set in peaceful location with delightful surroundings. Great amenities, brownies to die for, and locally sourced breakfast to set you up for the day. We’ll be coming back!

Melanie was the perfect host and was kind enough to accept a same day booking for our spontaneous trip. On arrival we were treated to some of her delicious homemade brownies. Her gorgeous rural cabin overlooks beautiful countryside scenery and friendly farmyard animals. The furnishings in the cabin are very high quality and have been fitted superbly, you even have the option to light the log burner, making the cabin even cosier. The breakfast was delicious and made with locally sourced ingredients. It was even brought to us in a wicker hamper, which was a lovely touch. Melanie gave us lots of information for places to go in the evening, and even more ideas of what to do in the morning. We hope to revisit, and would highly recommend this place!

Mel - your shepherds huts are really beautiful, I stayed in the one with a private garden and outside fire pit along with some very well trained chickens - The interior was so well laid out and considered making the very most of the space. **I hadn’t realised the roll top bath and toilet as in the pictures were actually all en suite within our shepherds hut** such an extra ⭐️ bed and linen all crisp, white and beautiful. Breakfasts options were great and delivered in a wicker hamper. Local walks, river and pub all near-by (short walk) and if we are passing through we’d love to stay again. ...you could even honeymoon here its so special.

This was truly a gem of a find. My wife and I decided to stay at the hut as a last minute get away to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. Initially I was apprehensive. An outdoor hut in the North East didn’t sound like much of a luxury break. How wrong I was. The huts were simply incredible and the attention to detail given by Melanie and Jake was outstanding. The huts provided a real level of luxury whilst maintaining the earthy rustic charm that you’d expect from a shepherds hut. The quality of bedding, towels, toiletries etc exceeded most high end hotels that we’ve previously stayed in. Melanie and Jake were perfect hosts. I felt like we had total privacy to enjoy our relaxing break but equally felt like we could call on them at any time if needed. Check in (and out) was seamless and within minutes of arriving we were left to enjoy the hut and beautiful surroundings. Our hut was based at the far end of the families immaculate walled garden. We weren’t overlooked and felt like we could enjoy the entire garden to ourselves, which we did. We spent a blissful few hours just reading and enjoying the sunshine before heading out for dinner. Melanie recommended a nearby restaurant which was just a simple stroll away. The food was incredible and the walk back took in the local village, bridge and beautiful riverside views. It was delightful. On arriving back to the hut we enjoyed a wonderful fire-pit which was already built and ready for us. Our stay was topped off with the most perfect breakfast. Again, brought to us exactly when we asked for it and left so we could enjoy in the privacy of the hut. Not only was the choice of breakfast options excellent but the quality of the food was of the highest level. Once again, every last detail had been considered. We had 24 hours of total relaxation at the hut and we can’t wait to return. It really was perfect!!

A little slice of heaven...... Gorgeous & very comfortable huts in the most peaceful of locations. We had a great time & Mel looked after us so well. Breakfast was delicious. I just wish we had stayed longer than one night. Can't recommend it enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you Mel!
